The OpenAtom Power HarmonyOS Open Source Community was launched on July 23 at the OpenAtom Open Source Eco-Conference in Beijing. Spearheaded by CSG and in collaboration with its partners, this initiative is said to signify the elevation of the company's Power HarmonyOS IoT operating system as a pivotal force in the energy sector and industrial ecosystem.
The Power HarmonyOS IoT operating system was unveiled in Beijing in October 2023 by CSG and the OpenAtom Foundation. Within an open-source framework, CSG is comprehensively constructing a unified internet of things operating system that covers the cloud, edge and end devices in the energy and power sector, catering to complex scenarios like real-time control and edge computing.
The open source community is said to bring together stakeholders across the entire industry chain, including chipmakers, device manufacturers, and service providers. By integrating cutting-edge technologies such as IoT operating systems and artificial intelligence, it focuses on common challenges like multi-access to new power systems and cross-domain collaboration. Through the dual propulsion of the industry ecosystem and technological innovation, it will inject sustained driving force into the open-source ecosystem of the energy sector.
The Power HarmonyOS IoT operating system has been implemented in multiple provinces and cities, demonstrating robust adaptability in scenarios like vehicle-network interaction. From intelligent power operation and maintenance to smart home energy consumption, from industrial energy management to urban energy interconnection, the system continuously expands its service boundaries, fostering a new format of green and low-carbon energy.
To date, the Power HarmonyOS ecosystem has attracted 500 industry chain manufacturers to join. In the future, CSG, alongside its partners, will support the national software development strategy through open-source mechanisms such as collaborative technology standards, shared development resources and industrial ecosystem governance. The initiative aims to underpin the construction of a new power system using open-source code, injecting a green digital driving force into China's high-quality economic development.
